Pantone® Color of the Year for 2022: Very Peri 17-3938

Each year the Pantone company selects a new color to best represent that new year. In 2022 Pantone is selecting Very Peri as 2022 Color of the Year.

According to their About Us page, “Pantone provides a universal language of color that enables color-critical decisions through every stage of the workflow for brands and manufacturers.”
They continue by claiming, “More than 10 million designers and producers around the world rely on Pantone products and services to help define, communicate and control color from inspiration to realization…. An iconic name in the fashion, product, graphic design and lifestyle-oriented industries, Pantone is a symbol of the design-minded.”
While we’re not able to verify their claim to “10 million designers and producers” we certainly do agree they are leaders in the field of color design and selection. So therefore, the home remodel and designing world agrees with us in listening to what they have to say.
Introducing PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri
On December 09, 2021 Pantone released a new blue shade, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri, a dynamic periwinkle blue with a violet red undertone as the Pantone Color of the Year 2022. They claim the new hue of blue is for “rekindling gratitude” and developing a feeling that compliments and resonates with a new perspective of today. Whatever that means… Personally, we think it’s a nice looking color. It has a calming effect so it’s well suited for bedrooms and bathrooms. This will also be a good trim color for accents throughout the house. Very Peri works well as an outdoor trim color as well.
Color Palette
As a stand alone color Very Peri is very nice. But about when you want to mix it with other colors? You certainly don’t want to clash. So Pantone makes it easy for us by developing a useful color palette page on their website. It shows lots of different color harmonies and shades that compliment Very Peri. It’s super helpful for taking all the guess work out of color selection while making home remodeling color choices.
On the page is four unique color palettes featuring PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri. Each palette conveys a different mood, showing the new color’s versatility. Each palette additionally features three suggested color combinations integrating Very Peri.
