A customer in San Diego CA wanted to add a bar room to his house. One that he could entertain friends in. A bar room that was unique and reflected his personality as well as compliment his home as a room addition that looks like it belongs.
Room additions can be great fun when done right but they can also be a major headache if done wrong. There is a myriad of permits to wade through, apply for and properly register with the county and other governing entities to make sure your project gets off on the right legal footing.
There are as many choices for what your room addition can look like as there are grains of sand on the beach. Hopefully you already have an idea of the finished room addition long before you begin, but completing all the details can be a daunting task to the uninitiated.
Beyond general ascetics such as the basic floor plan layout, colors and furnishings, what about flooring, electrical, plumbing, appliances, roofing, windows, ventilation, etc.? This is where we come. You need a good room addition contractor that is very experienced in room additions to homes.
HK Construction has assembled a winning team of professionals, each a specialist in his own field, to come together on your construction project and make it a stunning success for you. Architectural design, interior design, government permits and licenses, grading, foundations and concrete, framing, electrical, plumbing, roofing, drywall, painting… you get the idea.
A lot goes into doing a room addition the right way. And we got you covered.
So then, continuing with our story, we helped a customer design and build a bar room addition onto his home. We were involved every step of the way. He had a color scheme and basic look in his head that he had crudely drawn out on paper. We took it from there.
He wanted an old English pub motif that was red and black. He wanted it to stand out as unique but still fit in with the overall architectural design of the house the addition is attached to. Already had a name picked out for his new bar room addition: Winnie Pop’s.
So we converted a back room and added a semi-round alcove where sliding glass doors were. Installed a private entrance door way next to the alcove. Installed hard wood flooring. Painted his color scheme inside and out. Hooked him up with the bar, bar room sink, cabinets, inside furniture and the wrought iron outdoor patio chairs and tables. Then painted the existing back yard patio cover to match the room addition it’s attached to. Did the surrounding landscaping as well.
The customer was very, very pleased with the transformation. We think it turned out pretty good too! What about you? Are you ready for something similar? We can help you with any or all of your bar room addition from start to finish. All you’ll have to do is fill the glasses afterward, sit back and enjoy!
